English Fair

THE 6TH ANNUAL ENGLISH FAIR “PROFESSIONS FOR THE FUTURE”

THE ENGLISH DEPARTMENT IS HAPPY AND PROUD OF THE STUDENTS’  PRESENTAT IONS IN THE ANNUAL FAIR

This year the name of the fair was “professions for the future”. The objective of the fair was to foster the students´ professional future by promoting their greatest qualities and their communicative skills of English in a competitive and globalized world, and it was of course a great time to share with the school community as it has been in our preceding fairs.

We share with you the main message of the fair.

SPEECH FOR THE 6THANNUAL ENGLISH FAIR “PROFESSIONS FOR THE FUTURE”

Good morning to all parents, thank you for devoting this morning to be here with your children.
Do you remember the question“ What would you like to be when you grow up?”
Without much thinking, little kids quickly and happily answer: “fire fighter “pilot”, “doctor” or even “president”; with fresh and naive confidence in a perfect world, built and kept by their parents.

Later, when adolescence strikes hard the world becomes chaotic, but far from being a tragedy, adolescence is in fact one of the best times to discover yourself, develop and test your skills, and dream about changing everything.

Parents support their kids by providing love, education and values as the best guides to face any future changes.

In relation to change, spiritual guide to millions, Mahatma Gandhi said:
“Be the change that you wish to see in the wor.l”d Let´ s seehow professionals are helping change our world for the future: A group of Criminologists and Forensic Scientists are helping justice enforcement to 43 Mexican families and to the whole country.
Doctors and Epidemiologists in Africa and around the world are risking their lives fighting Ebola.
Mechatronic Engineers undoubtedly helped a space probe landing on a comet millions of miles away in the dark space;I t is amazing.
When a Pilot saves his plane, he becomes a hero because when you save a person you save a family.
Fashion Designers show that our parents were young too, ask grandparents for confirmation photos.
We thank our Dentist for taking away a horrible toothache and for doing it fast.
We thank Chefs for teaching us the art of gradual seduction; fir st our lips, then our mouth and taste buds and finally our stomachs.
When a Nutriologist helps clean and correctly feed our body, we feel healthier and happier with ourselves.
Graphic Designers show us that our imagination does not need drugs. That is their best campaign.
The Leaning Tower of Pisa teaches architects that sometimes even our imperfections may be wonderful.
When an Archaeologist digs out a treasure it becomes clear that: whatever we do right will persist through time, so, let’s do
our best in what we do.
When a Veterinarian saves a pet, a child is happy again.
When a Pediatrician heals a baby his parents smile and sleep happy again.
When a Video Game Designer helps us develop our skills we become better people.
Great Film Makers move us and our hearts beat to the rhythm of the first kiss.
When we sing along with a great Musician we all become one.
There is a great reward in bringing happiness to the life of others and that gives sense to our existence.
Let our kids share their presentations and be hopeful that when they have to take their own road they will be honest, et njoy i
and be happy.

THANK YOU
